Nestled among the picturesque Devonshire countryside sits Welbeck Manor Hotel and Golf Course, a country house rich with history, charm and beauty.
Built by Isambard Kingdom Brunel in 1847, the manor has kept almost all of its original features, although its recent refurbishment under new ownership has uncloaked its true potential as an elegant and stylish location for a relaxing and luxurious getaway.
Welbeck is now a top quality 9 hole course set in peaceful surroundings, with fabulous views of the South Hams and yet is only a few minutes from the A38, Plympton, Plymstock and Plymouth.
Over the last two years we have invested significantly improving the course, restaurant, bar and hotel. As a golf venue we are increasingly popular, welcoming golfers of all abilities.
Our restaurant and bar are open to the general public seven days a week, serving a wide range of freshly prepared food and drink with a friendly smile. We have some amazing offers including Afternoon Tea and of course our stunning Sunday roast.
Welbecks extensive refurbishment is also fast putting us at the top of the wishlist for Weddings and events. Its a superb setting for weddings, corporate days and functions and we have an exciting events programme.
Welbeck Manor Golf Course
Welbeck Manor offers a 9-hole course, surrounded by beautiful countryside.
Its open fairways are perfect for golfers who are looking to improve their handicap, while the more challenging holes are ideal to keep the low handicappers entertained.
From the Par 3’s to the long Par 5 there is something for everyone and you can even play a second round from different Tee positions to give you an 18-hole experience.

With full membership for the year at just £438 why not come and try out the course, even if you have played it previously we are confident you will see the difference. As a member you also get 10% of drinks in the bar and food from the bar menu.

Corporate Golf Days
What better way to say thank you to your customers or potentially increase your business than with a corporate day. With our 9 hole course it doesn’t even need to take the entire day, Start early morning and finish for Lunch or the afternoon and finish with a BBQ on the decking, let us know what you want and we will endeavour to make your golf day a day to remember.
Club rules:
- Players are requested to report to reception prior to play.
- Golf etiquette is to be observed at all times.
- Please repair pitch marks.
- Replace divots and rake bunkers after play.
- The clubs dress code must be adhered to at all times.

Sparkwell Golf Society provide support to maintain your handicap and for those who want to enter competition provide options for you (with an Affiliation Fee) or you can just play and enjoy the hotel facilities.
Our team are welcoming and attentive, focussed on helping you and your guests have the most enjoyable time. So whether you just want to play occasionally or on a regular basis we look forward to seeing you.
Subscriptions are effective from 01 May 2026 and expire on 30 April 2027. Joining part way through a membership year merits a pro-rata discount. We can also offer monthly payments.
Our membership is excellent value at £438.00 per annum for adults with reduced rates for juniors for the season.
